Date and Nuts Cheese Cake



Cheesecake is a favourite of many, and it has come in several different flavours as well. However, a date and nut cheesecake with a sesame crust is not something usual, and that’s exactly why you need to try it this easy to bake recipe.


125 ml   Water

7 gm Coffee

200 gm chopped dates

450 gm cream cheese

5 gm vanilla essence

100 gm eggs

60 gm sour cream

200 gm chopped pecan nuts

125 gm sugar


  1. 1. Heat up water to boiling, stir in coffee and dates
  2. Let simmer for 5 minutes, remove from heat and let cool
  3. Beat cream cheese, sugar and vanilla until well blended
  4. Add coffee mixture, chopped nuts
  5. Pour filling into crust and bake at 140 Celsius for 25 minutes

Sesame base

60 gm caster sugar

60g m unsalted butter softened

75gm sesame seeds

2 tbs fine polenta

2 tbs plain flour

1/2 tsp baking powder

1 egg, lightly beaten

1 tsp vanilla extract


For the base, beat sugar and butter in a bowl until thick and pale. Beat in remaining ingredients with 1/4 tsp salt, to form a dough. Press into the base of the pan with the back of a spoon, then bake 160 minutes for 10-12 minutes until just firm. Cool slightly.
