Taste of Dubai 2017, the city’s favourite food, drink, and music festival held last weekend at Dubai Media City’s Amphitheatre, ended on a very flavourful note for all food lovers. While the whole city indulged in good food and fun for all three days of the event, Team ICCA made sure everyone enjoyed the fest at its very best by Powering the Taste.
Like every year, the event served a line-up of internationally renowned and Michelin-Star chefs such as Michel Roux, Gary Rhodes, Jenny Morris, Reza Mahammed, Aldo Zilli, Josh Stanzl, Luke Thomas, Tim Anderson, Paolo Pettenuzzo and Zahra Abdalla along with ICCA Alumni & Electrolux Corporate Chef, Nisrine Nakhoul and ICCA’s Chef Instructors, heading the power team of young student chefs assisting the Maestros at each feature.
This year, our students worked at various features alongside a boasting collection of celebrity chefs, who demonstrated their culinary expertise at Chef’s Theatre, Make Life Delicious, Cooking Challenge by Noor & Pyrex, Electrolux Garden Room and Electrolux VIP Hospitality.
For ICCA students, it was one of the best opportunity and experience where they got to share work-stations with prominent figures of the industry at such an early stage of their careers. It was not only an honour for them to assist such significant personalities but a platform to learn and gain culinary knowledge on a very different level.
Every year, Taste comes up with something bigger, and this year being the 10th year anniversary it just got better by the esteemed presence of the man himself, Chef Michel Roux inspiring the young chefs and Billy Ocean gracing the whole event with his mesmerizingly amazing music which was more than enough to show that there was something for everyone at this year’s Taste of Dubai.
As Taste of Dubai came to a close on Saturday, 11th March, bringing to an end the more than half a month-long Dubai Food Festival, with excellent group work put up by Team ICCA making the whole event an extremely successful one; we would like to say cheers to each and every member of Team ICCA and most importantly our power packed army of young student chefs without whom we wouldn’t have achieved what we have today.
