Foodies who have a health conscious, are constantly on the lookout for new and exotic products within the food market for their diets; however, it’s not always dictated by the foodie outlets/food stores. With social media being the way it is; A-list actors, models, and reality TV programs dictates (to a certain extent) what we eat. Is it another marketing tool to print money? I read somewhere that dieticians and even nutrition scientists tend to dispute their health benefits.
We all know the benefits of Coconut water, Carrots, Broccoli and Kale. Well, these are the new heavyweights in town. Why? Because people such as the likes of Kardashians, Jolie, Beckham and renowned chef (Jamie Oliver) can’t stop but praise these so-called super foods. The majority of super foods are predominately plant based. However, there are fish and dairy products, not to mention venison, which is very lean and that has more protein than any other type of red meat. These are my top hits.

These colorful and sweet tubers are packed with beta carotene. Sweet potatoes are extremely easy to cook, with little time. Try steaming them, it brings their delicious flavor out and even maximizes their nutritional properties.
Nuts are a huge source of protein, with each different nut having its own makeup for me. As an athlete, almond has to be the most beneficial; it has a higher protein bar and several other important vitamins. Wonderful addition to your fresh fruit smoothies, desserts, and salad.
Seeds are very much like nuts. They can be eaten raw as a little snack or added into dishes for that extra texture. Seeds are packed with wonderful healthy nutritional values. Hemp seeds, Chia, Sunflower, Pumpkin, and Flax seeds are a good selection.
